Intro to Broadcasting
The Introduction to Broadcasting course is an exciting opportunity for students to develop communication skills in radio, TV production, sports broadcasting, journalism, and more through student-produced projects at Glenbrook North's WGBK-FM studio. Students create radio programs and TV projects, including commercials, news features, interviews, and learn about career opportunities and media influence.
TV Broadcasting
The TV Broadcasting class covers the essential skills for television broadcasting, broadcast journalism, film, and multimedia production. Students engage in individual and group projects, creating music videos, interviews, live TV production, and feature stories. Students gain basic knowledge of video equipment, audio recording, graphics, and video editing. Assignments may require additional outside class time.
Radio Broadcasting
Radio Broadcasting prepares students for hands-on radio broadcasting skills, including creating a weekly radio show on WGBK 88.5FM and adhering to FCC and school guidelines. Students work on individual, team, and group projects, learning to plan interviews and use digital audio editing systems. Extra time commitment for after-school radio shows and assignments may be necessary.
